Cacao Recipe
Incorporate beautiful Mama Cacao into your life
Per person
Preparing your cacao elixir for a cacao ceremony is easy, though will benefit from allowing more time to make it sacred!
Below is my ceremonial cacao drink recipe that is a great basis to start from as you explore your relationship with the Cacao Spirit.
Grate or finely chop 20 - 50g of cacao. I tend to use 30g per person.
Gently warm 15ml of water in a pan (do not boil), then add the cacao and work into a paste. Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and stir. Then slowly add 150ml of a plant-based milk (I use oat milk) or water to the pan and keep stirring.
Bring the temperature up to around 70C then add organic runny honey to taste.
When you prepare cacao for use in a ceremony, make the preparation a ritual itself.
Be mindful of why you are preparing your cacao.
Take your time
Send your prayers and intentions to the drink as you make it
Hold love in your heart as you do
Serve it in your favourite mug or ceremonial cup
